Blood Orange, Strawberry & Ginger Smoothie

This smoothie is perfect for boosting immune health through the flu season. The yoghurt delivers probiotics, shown to reduce the incidence of respiratory infections, the blood orange, strawberries and mint are rich in vitamin C along with prebiotics, while ginger has both anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties.

Best part is it tastes delicious – kind of like a tangy strawberry milkshake! For a sweeter taste you can add a touch of pure floral honey. This adds further prebiotics and honey also has antibacterial qualities, while soothing sore throats.

2 blood oranges, peel and pith removed
10g ginger, peeled
4 strawberries
4 mint leaves
1 cup natural yoghurt


Step 1

Put all the ingredients in the order listed into your Vitamix container or other powerful blender. Top with a cup of ice and put on the lid. Turn the power on to level 1 and then as the ingredients start to combine turn up to level 10 and blend for a minute or until completely smooth. Pour into 2 glasses and enjoy!
