Until now I always cooked my grains on the stove top, but frequently overcooked them when not standing in the kitchen keeping an eye on the pan. With the Grainmaster you simply set and leave it to do the job. It cooks the grains perfectly every time and keeps the finished dish warm until you are ready to eat.
You can cook every grain including my favourite wholegrains such as brown rice, barley and quinoa with ease. Here I demonstrate my Quinoa & Chickpea Veggie Pilaf. This is a recipe I make frequently as it's wonderfully simple and easy to make, tastes delicious and packs in a raft of veggies.
The quinoa and the chickpeas deliver plant protein and together with the veggies the dish is rich in a variety of fibres, essential for good gut health and boosting the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
You can serve it as a vegetarian dish (using vegetable stock) on it's own or serve as an accompaniment to fish or meat.
